History:
Rocca Rondinaria was founded in 2004 by husband and wife Lucesio and Giovanna (with family involvement) who transformed a traditional farm into a winemaking estate while honoring local agricultural heritage. Originally focused on mixed farming — including saffron cultivation and animal husbandry — they moved into winemaking to help revitalize quality wine production in their historic area adjacent to the castle of Rocca Grimalda.
Vineyards:
Farming Practice: Organic and biodynamic; minimal tractor use, hand harvesting, green manure for soil health, adherence to cosmic calendars, and biodynamic preparations.
Location: Steep hillside plots in the Piedmont hills with calcareous–marl soils influenced by Mediterranean breezes; vineyards include historic parcels like Trionzo and Bernarda/Vallegrande.
Winemaking:
